Children in Need’s appeal night is fast approaching and with the public’s help & donations, the UK could make a real difference to the lives of children.
The BBC Children in Needs vision is that every child in the UK has a childhood which is:
- Safe
- Happy & Secure
- Allows them the chance to reach their potential
Children in Need provides grants to projects in the UK which focus on children & young people who are disadvantaged.
The BBC Children in Need appeal night takes place every year in November. The appeal show is a whole evening of entertainment with celebrities singing & dancing and doing all sorts of crazy things to help raise money. They have a mascot called Pudsey who has a spotted bandage across one eye.
Since their first major Appeal in 1980 BBC Children in Need has raised over £790 million, all of which has gone to help disadvantaged children and young people around the UK.
